Immune Armor - Flea & Tick Control From The Inside Out

The Naturopath’s View On Fleas Treatment and Tick Control

I am a true believer when it comes to taking care of the inside, the outside takes care of itself. From a holistic point of view, the ‘inside’ has many energetic layers. The base layer, is the physical body and it takes some essentials to make it run properly; fresh air, sunshine, pure water, and species appropriate diets. Without these components, no pesticide in the world will keep your dog free of parasites. An animal that is young, old, weak or sickly is a magnet for every pest on the planet! There are a number of simple, inexpensive products that you can add to your pet’s diet but use them wisely and know that no one understands your companion better than you. Use that special bond to understand their needs.

A Cautionary Statement

A healthy animal has a strong immune system and is naturally resistant to infestations. The proceeding supplements assist the body’s ability to be inhospitable to parasites. Every animal is unique, so add them to your pet’s diet slowly, to ward against any adverse reactions.

The 3 Basic & Best Choices

  • Coconut Oil - supports full body health. Look for organic, virgin and buy it in glass jars only. The recommended dose is 1 teaspoon/ 10 lbs, but I would start with a 1/4 teaspoon or less. I alternate weeks with a good fish oil for Omega-3 content.
  • Garlic -  Again, use fresh and organic. Start with 1/8 to 1/4 clove minced fine, then add to food. The body must get accustom to these powerful additives.
  • Brewer’s Yeast  -  High in B vitamins, Zinc and trace minerals that create an unfriendly environment for parasites. Its also high in calories and can interact with some medications. Less is more.

Quality of Ingredients Ensures Optimal Results

When you choose your ingredients, do it with the utmost attention to purity and freshness. If you're going to use garlic and brewer’s yeast, don’t buy them in a pill form. Processing reduces efficacy. Look for statements like fresh, organic, non-GMO, and no additives or fillers. Taking a few extra steps to create a healthy diet for your companion pays off with dividends of radiant health, longevity and that intimate bond that comes from a knowing that you're doing your best, every day!
